Osteopathy works on the principle of promoting a good blood, nerve, and lymphatic supply to and from each and every part of the body. Once achieved, individuals will function at their optimum.
Various methods can be used to promote this, such as articulation of limbs and trunk, mobilisation of specific joints, soft tissue work locally and systemically, passive muscle release and cranio-sacral osteopathy, which works on very gently releasing tension in and around the meninges (membrane layers that surround the brain and spinal cord).
Specific treatment programmes require several treatment sessions over a period of weeks, with continual monitoring of an individual's progress at each session.
Tony Nevin has been in practice for just over
17 years, having graduated in 1988 from the European School of Osteopathy, Maidstone,
Kent.
Tony currently runs two practices in Cheltenham and Stroud, as well as
contracting his services to hospitals. His extensive knowledge in osteopathy
has also provided service for several veterinary surgeries, zoos and Game
reserves in Africa. |
